Commercial glazing.
A considered finish.

Window film for offices, reception areas and other workplaces, planned around the glazing and how your team uses the space.

FOR WORKING SPACES

Privacy and comfort at work.

Large windows can bring welcome daylight to a business, but they can also expose meeting rooms or put bright reflections across computer screens. LuxTint discusses privacy, light and appearance before recommending film for the actual glazing.

We consider who needs to see in or out, when the room is occupied and whether the priority is screen glare, overlooking or solar heat. Film performance varies by product and glass, so the proposed film and its measured specifications belong in your quote.

Can window film reduce glare on office screens?

It can help when daylight through a particular window is the source of excessive brightness or reflections. The right film reduces a measured amount of visible light before it reaches the workspace. It does not remove every reflection, and choosing the darkest-looking film is not a reliable specification.

First identify which windows cause the problem and when it happens. Note the affected desks, the direction they face, the time of day and whether the problem is direct sun, bright sky or a reflection from another building. Photographs taken from the normal seated position are especially useful. This lets us discuss a film by its visible-light transmission and glare-reduction data rather than by appearance alone.

The Health and Safety Executive advises employers to assess display-screen workstations and adjust screens and lighting to avoid reflections and glare. The DSE Regulations also refer to suitable adjustable window coverings. Window film can form part of a wider glare-control plan, but it does not replace a DSE assessment, sensible screen positioning or blinds where adjustable control is needed. What should an office glare survey cover?

  • The panes responsible and the desks or screens affected.
  • The time of day and season when glare is worst.
  • Existing blinds, coatings or film and whether adjustable control is still required.
  • The glazing construction, pane sizes and any access equipment needed.
  • The balance between glare reduction, daylight, outward view and the external appearance of the building.

For larger offices, test samples or a clearly agreed specification can be more useful than choosing from a shade photograph. We confirm the proposed product, its performance data, glazing suitability, warranty and installation scope before booking.

Plan an installation around your business

Tell us whether the panes are on a shopfront, office, reception, meeting room or another working area. We need to understand access, approximate glass sizes, any existing coating or film, and when installers can work without disrupting your normal use of the space.

Day and night privacy are different

Reflective privacy depends on the lighting balance. A bright office at night can be visible from outside even when the same film offers daytime privacy. We discuss this before recommending a solution; curtains, blinds or another treatment may still be needed.

Suitability first

Not every film suits every glazing unit. We assess the glass construction, condition and purpose before confirming the film, scope and installation plan. Send photographs, pane measurements, a site postcode and your main concern for an initial discussion.
